What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that originated in Japan in the late 19th century. It is designed to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The word "Reiki" comes from two Japanese words: "Rei," meaning universal, and "Ki," meaning life energy.
How Does Reiki Work?
Energy flows all around and within us. When this energy becomes blocked or imbalanced, it can lead to physical or emotional issues. Reiki works by channeling life force energy to help restore balance, using a gentle, non-invasive, and non-manipulative touch.
During a Reiki session, I either lightly touch or hover my hands over the seven chakras—the main energy centers of the body (I will explain more about these on the next page). This allows the flow of life force energy to reach where it's most needed. Reiki helps to clear "stuck energy" blockages, promoting relaxation, healing, and overall harmony. When our energy is in balance, we feel at our best.
Why Reiki?
We constantly take on energy from others, which can impact our balance. By recognizing this, we can learn what steps are needed to restore our energy and well-being. This awareness helps us understand how others' energy can affect us.
Reiki is not a replacement for traditional medicine, but it can complement conventional treatments. It is not based on any belief system, faith, or suggestion. Reiki is known for its calming effects and is often used to reduce stress, relieve pain, and support emotional healing.

Although Reiki does not directly treat or cure health conditions, many people find it beneficial for managing symptoms and gaining a deeper understanding of their own well-being. It can help identify personal triggers and provide tools for coping with life's challenges.

Is Reiki Safe? There are no known side effects of Reiki. However, you may experience an emotional release during a session, which can feel liberating and leave you feeling lighter and more at peace.
Reiki is given fully clothed in a calm, quiet environment. It is safe for adults, children, mothers-to-be, babies, and even animals. As a qualified animal Reiki healer, I do offer Reiki for pets (please note, animals with health issues should first be seen by a veterinary surgeon to obtain a diagnosis, as Reiki healers are not able to diagnose health conditions).
